The preliminary but almost complete results of the Guinean presidential election published by the body in charge of the elections credit the outgoing Alpha Condé with an absolute majority in the first round, in a context of sharp tensions and contestation of the regularity of the ballot.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (Céni) published Thursday evening the results of Sunday's election in 17 new constituencies in the national territory, in addition to constituencies abroad.
Only three constituencies are still missing (one in Guinea, two abroad).

The 37 constituencies of the interior of which the Ceni communicated the results since Tuesday represent more than five million of the 5.41 million registered.
The Céni did not accumulate and did not declare a winner.
But according to the addition of the results of the constituencies of the interior alone, Mr. Condé wins with more than 2.4 million votes out of about 3.9 million voices, distancing his main challenger, Cellou Dalein Diallo (approximately 1.2 million votes).
Twelve candidates in all were in the running.
The other ten share the electoral crumbs.

The possibility of a third consecutive term of Mr. Condé, 82, provoked for a year a protest in which dozens of civilians were killed, raising fears of an eruption around the vote, in a country customary of bloody political confrontations .
Violence broke out after the vote, killing around ten according to the authorities, at least 19 according to Mr. Diallo.
Mr. Diallo, beaten by Mr. Condé in 2010 and 2015, proclaimed his victory on Monday, invoking the work carried out by his party to bring up data from the field and not rely on official bodies, the Ceni and the Court constitutional, subservient to power according to him.
Mr. Diallo denounced an
ongoing
"large-scale fraud"
to falsify the results.
These have yet to be proclaimed by the Ceni and validated by the Constitutional Court.
