The Copa Libertadores draw was not too friendly with the three Argentine teams that continue to compete in the main club tournament in America.
All three will have to face Brazilian rivals, with whom their records, except in the case of Racing, are not favorable.
Boca, winner of group H, will have to face Inter by Eduardo Coudet, who finished second in zone E behind Gremio.
These two teams met six times, with three victories for the Brazilians, two for the Argentines and a draw.
The first clashes were in the semifinals of the 2004 South American Cup, which Boca would end up winning against Bolívar.
In the first leg match, at the Bombonera, the team led by Jorge
Chino
Benítez won 4-2, while in the rematch, in Porto Alegre, they equaled 0-0.
A year later, they met again in the same tournament, but this time in the quarterfinals.
In the Beira Río, the cast led by Alfio Basile fell 1 to 0, but in the rematch he won 4 to 1 and managed to advance to the semifinals of a contest that he would also end up obtaining by defeating Pumas de la UNAM on penalties in the final .

The last matches were in 2008, again for the quarterfinals of the South American.
That time, Inter took revenge with two victories against the team led by Carlos Ischia: 2-0 in Porto Alegre and 2-1 in Buenos Aires.
River, who took first place in group D, will face Athletico Paranaense, escort of the surprising Bolivian Jorge Wilstermann in zone C. The history between these rivals who will meet again next month is made up of four games.
The first duels were for the round of 16 of the 2006 South American Cup. The first leg was played at the Monumental and the team led by Daniel Alberto Passarella lost 1 to 0. In the rematch, in Curitiba, they drew 2 to 2 and were eliminated .
That night, one of River's goals was scored by Marcelo Gallardo from a penalty kick (the other was by Danilo Gerlo).
Marcelo Gallardo faced Athletico Pananaense as a player in 2006. He also did so as a coach in 2019.
Already in 2019 and with Gallardo as coach, the
Millionaire
, champion of the Libertadores 2018, settled the Recopa Sudamericana with Paranaense, winner of the Sudamericana.
In Brazil, the locals won 1-0, but River turned it around in the rematch: they won 3-0 and lifted the trophy.
The third Argentine team that is still in competition, Racing (National de Montevideo escort in group F), will have to face the last champion of the tournament, Flamengo, who won zone A. The only antecedents between the two go back to the old Super Cup , in 1992.
Junior and Rubén Paz greet each other before the start of the second leg between Racing and Flamengo in 1992.
They met in the semifinals of that tournament.
Racing had reached that stage after eliminating Independiente in the round of 16 and going through the quarterfinals without playing, because Nacional did not show up due to a strike by players in Uruguay.
In the first leg, which was played at Pacaembú in San Pablo, they tied 3 to 3. In the rematch, in Avellaneda, Racing won 1 to 0 with a goal from Alfredo Graciani and advanced to the final, which they lost to Cruzeiro .
