2020-10-23T18:33:52.528Z

CHRONICLE - A week after the Islamist attack that struck Samuel Paty, the party of denial is not idle and the usual mechanisms of symbolic neutralization have been re-engaged.

For a few days, we wanted to believe it.

That it would be one bloody attack too many.

That the beheading of Samuel Paty would definitely mark the conscience.

That we no longer seek to relativize the danger of Islamism.

That we would be intractable not only towards the terrorists, but also towards the fifth column which supports them.

The illusion will not have lasted.

The party of denial is not idle, has not even been able to keep a little embarrassment, and has resumed warning against the recovery of the event by "the extreme right", which should not be not play the game. The collaborative spirit has a future.

For some, betrayal is a profession.

A subsidized profession.
