S7 extension: schedule is set

The construction of the second trunk line is delayed.

This has no effect on the plans to extend the S7 from Wolfratshausen to Geretsried.

Wolfratshausen / Geretsried- For three and a half years, work has been carried out on a second S-Bahn main line, a tube between Laim and Ostbahnhof.

There is a risk of further delays in construction and commissioning due to rescheduling.

According to information from our newspaper, completion is no longer expected internally at the end of 2028, but in 2032.

This has no influence on the expansion of the S7 route from Wolfratshausen to Geretsried.

"The schedule of the second main line has no effect on the extension of the S7," a spokeswoman for Deutsche Bahn AG said when asked. As planned, the statements should be handed over to the hearing authority in the fourth quarter of 2020. The railway has been processing the 170 objections received in the planning approval procedure since the summer. As soon as the answers from the government of Upper Bavaria as the competent hearing authority are available, a discussion date should be set and, if necessary, the planning approval decision should be made by the Federal Railway Authority. If the procedure is completed as planned by the end of 2022, the S-Bahn is to roll to Geretsried in December 2028.
