An impressive fire led to the evacuation of several residents and the closure of Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado on Friday, October 23.
68,800 hectares of land have already gone up in smoke since October 14, according to Noel Livingston, the person in charge of the current intervention.
Late Thursday afternoon, only 5% of the fire was contained according to him.

The closure of Rocky Mountain National Park comes in addition to authorities restricting access to more than 400,000 hectares of land in the state of Colorado.
Grand County has also ordered evacuations, including in smaller towns.
This fire is added to a long list of fires that occurred during a particularly dry summer season.
The cause of this is still unknown.
The smoke cloud from the fires is the second largest in the state of Colorado in terms of magnitude.
The weather forecast still calls for high temperatures, dry weather and lots of wind for much of the state.
However, snow and lower temperatures are expected this weekend.
