Defense and prosecution clashed Friday in the trial of four Bosnians, Muslims, accused of having, on August 17, beaten and shaved Selma, 17, their daughter and niece, who wanted to marry Dusan, 20, her friend Serbian and Christian.
But no one disputed what is at the heart of the matter: a young woman beaten up and subjected to a punishment, described as "fine" by her uncle, reserved for disobedient girls.
The Besançon court returned to the facts in detail on Friday.
Selma's parents, who arrived in 2018 and refused asylum in December 2019, speak with the help of a translator.
Her uncle and aunt, refugees who arrived in November 2015, speak French but also occasionally have to use a translator.
