Protests against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and government corruption continue tonight (Saturday), for the 18th week in a row.

Demonstrators gathered at dozens of intersections, bridges and interchanges across the country, and mass protests are expected in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

In the capital, the protesters will reset in front of the prime minister's residence on Balfour Street, and from there the protesters plan to march around the city.

The "Come Israel" protest movement said that the demonstrators would protest the cancellation of the Knesset vote on Wednesday for a parliamentary inquiry into the purchase of submarines and ships.

The main march will leave the Knesset at 20:00.

Additional walks will depart from the Commissioner's Palace, Pat Junction, the String Bridge and the Railway Park.

"This government has lost public confidence and wants to silence criticism of it," Komi Israel reported.

"The Likud party has been kidnapped by a criminal organization from Balfour that has taken an entire country captive and gambled on the future of our children. While we try to keep our heads above water, they are dragging us into an economic and social catastrophe from which we can not rise."

In Tel Aviv, a protest event will be held in Rabin Square, which will include performances by artists and speeches.

The event, which will be led by the Movement for Quality of Government, will be attended by Aviv Geffen, Alma Zohar and Terrem Relief.

Maj. Gen. Amos Gilad will speak.

  • Additional checkpoints were set up near Netanyahu's house in Caesarea: "Takes the sting out of the demonstration"

"Dragging us to catastrophe."

Demonstration of the black flags on the Youth Bridge

In the background of the demonstrations, which sometimes also take place in front of Netanyahu's private residence in Caesarea, last night fences and other checkpoints were placed in front of the house.

The house complex is closed to passers-by, except for the tenants who live near the Netanyahu family.

According to neighbors, the roadblocks were set up last night on Hadar Street to prevent protesters from approaching the prime minister.

The issue of the proximity of the demonstrations to the residence of public servants and elected officials has already been raised in the High Court, in the case of demonstrations from 2017 in front of Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit's house in Petah Tikva. This is for other claims.

What are the demonstrations about?

The demonstrators are protesting against Netanyahu's continued tenure while being charged with crimes, claiming, among other things, that he cannot separate his personal and legal good from his political decisions.

The prime minister is charged with three counts.

In the 1000 case (the benefit benefits case), Netanyahu is accused of receiving benefits worth about NIS 700,000 from businessmen Arnon Milchen and James Packer, while he served as prime minister.

The main gifts were cigars, champagne packages and jewelry.

In addition, it was alleged that Netanyahu acted in favor of Milchen in three matters, in which the businessman sought his intervention: he approached US Secretary of State John Kerry to extend the businessman's visa, he approached Finance Minister Yair Lapid to extend the exemption. A tax for returning residents, and he worked to promote a merger of "Keshet" and "Reshet" - ostensibly at Milchen's request.

According to the lawsuit, these acts damaged the public service's image and public trust in it.

In this case, Netanyahu is accused of fraud and breach of trust.

The 2000 case (the Netanyahu-Mozes affair) deals with talks between Netanyahu and Yedioth Ahronoth publisher Noni Mozes. In those talks, the two allegedly discussed the benefit of the prime minister's coverage of the Yedioth group, in exchange for imposing restrictions on the newspaper's main competitor - Israel Today. The person who proposed the deal is Mozes, so he is accused of bribing.

In this case, Netanyahu is accused of fraud and breach of trust.

Case 4000 (Bezeq-Walla affair) The most serious case for the prime minister concerns regulatory benefits worth hundreds of millions of shekels, which Netanyahu allegedly granted to Elowitz.

In return, according to the indictment, Elovich acted to skew the coverage on the Walla!

NEWS, which was under his control.
