Brazil recorded 30,026 cases and 571 new deaths from the Coronavirus during the past 24 hours.
Reuters quoted the Brazilian Ministry of Health as saying that the total number of cases of the epidemic has reached more than 5.3 million since the start of the pandemic, while the official death toll rose to 156,471 cases.
The new figures showed a slight decrease in terms of infections, as the country announced yesterday that it had recorded 33,862 cases and 497 deaths from the virus.
Brazil ranks third in the world in terms of injuries, after the United States and India, and second after the United States with deaths.
