A major fire broke out around 1 p.m. this Saturday in an "abandoned building" in Caucriauville, on the heights of Le Havre, in Seine-Maritime, the national police said on its Twitter account.
The latter reports a "huge release of smoke" and calls on the population to avoid the area.
"The houses nearby are being evacuated," added the police.
According to the 76actu site, nearly 70 firefighters were mobilized on the spot, with 25 devices, in particular to evacuate the inhabitants.
Smoke, "thick and black", was visible for miles around, says the news site.
The circulation of the tram was interrupted, specifies for its part the site Paris Normandy.
No victim would be deplored.
