(CNN Spanish) -
The Venezuelan opposition leader and founding member of Popular Will, Leopoldo López, left the residence of the Spanish ambassador in Caracas on Saturday, a source with knowledge of the case confirmed to CNN.
According to Venezuelan opposition sources, López would be in Colombian territory close to arriving in Bogotá.
López had been at the diplomatic headquarters since April 2019 after having participated on April 30, together with his then party partner and president of the National Assembly, Juan Guaidó, in a failed civic-military uprising.
