They told her it was because her husband is hospitalized with Covid-19, which is why they suspect they knew the victim. The City reiterated that no home tests have been carried out since Sunday 18.

A retired woman was assaulted by three criminals who posed as nurses and who came to "swab" her because she had her husband hospitalized with coronavirus and they stole money and jewelry.

The event released this Saturday occurred on Thursday at 11 am in a building on Calle Venezuela 1,617 and corner Zeballos, in the Monserrat neighborhood and one hundred meters from the Central Department of the Argentine Federal Police (PFA).

Two men and a woman posed as "swabbing nurses" of the Buenos Aires government and deceived her, dressed in white overalls from the medical emergency service, chinstraps and medical equipment.

According to the police investigation, the criminals rang the bell with the excuse that they were doing tests for Covid-19 in the area and since

the woman's husband is hospitalized for that disease

in the Spanish hospital, he opened them.

Once they entered the house, the woman named

María Luisa Stieb (76)

was taken to the dining room where they tied her up and beat her, after which they stirred everything for 30 minutes.

The victim reported the theft to the City Police after the thieves took the money he had from the family real estate located next to his house, jewelry and other personal belongings.

The criminals took out a safe that was embedded in the wall of a room, inside a closet, and took a suitcase with personal family values, sources said.

"They stole jewelry, money and other valuables from me. They took a suitcase with many valuables. They tied me up and beat me.

They are known and we know who they are. They arrived with very key information,"

the victim told the press.

The woman said that they arrived at her house "dressed in nurses' clothes and were in a white van" that was parked in the block from 5 am until the time they assaulted her.

"They took me inside and tied me up. They had chinstraps and nurses' clothes that looked very real. They knew well the fact that my husband is admitted to a hospital with coronavirus," added the woman, who added: "They were looking for money. They knew that I was alone in my house. They put

me to sleep because I don't open the door for anyone. "

Stieb added that his family owns a real estate agency, although he said he did not believe that "that has anything to do with it."

"They took all the collection from the real estate, all that was to pay for things from the premises," he said.

On the subject, the researchers clarified that the City Government communicates on its website to all Buenos Aires

"that no more visits or censuses are being carried out to swab for Covid-19"

and they advised "to be very careful with deception."
