Buenos Aires gastronomy will take another step to try to get out of the crisis in which it fell due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Because although since the quarantine began, restaurants, bars and cafes were able to operate with delivery and a month ago the possibility of them working with tables and chairs on the sidewalks was enabled, from next Monday they will be able to reopen their rooms.

It was confirmed by the head of the Buenos Aires Government Horacio Rodríguez Larreta this Friday during the announcement of a new phase of the quarantine in the City.

"Bars and restaurants will be able to open the internal rooms with a maximum occupancy of up to 25% of their capacity according to the characteristics of their ventilation system," he explained.

How will the neighbors have to go back to sitting at a table in a restaurant?

The first thing to keep in mind is that the service will be

and self-service is not allowed, only

That is, there can be no buffets.

The distance between the tables must be

at least two meters

and there will be a maximum of

four people per table

In addition, people must maintain a minimum distance of two meters within the premises at all times.

In different neighborhoods of the City, on weekends the streets are used to put chairs and tables of gastronomic places.

The protocol will be the same that has been used in the service on the sidewalk or in lounges and terraces: the use of the mask while not eating, the provision of alcohol gel in all common spaces and signage that organizes circulation and identifies the different spaces (for example, a corridor that includes both directions of circulation, of at least 2 meters).

For gastronomic entrepreneurs it is a step forward, after the intense efforts made by the Association of Hotels, Restaurants, Confectioneries and Cafes of the City since the beginning of the restrictions and the meetings held during the last week with officials of the different areas of the City Government.

The president of the AHRCC, Ariel Amoroso, told

that although "we had asked that they authorize 50% of the occupancy in the halls," the announcement "

."

"We cannot stop remarking that we are still working at a loss because to reach a point of equilibrium it is necessary to work at least 70% occupancy and with these openings announced we will reach 40 or 45%," said Amoroso.

Each bar or restaurant must present an Affidavit in the Government Control Agency signed by a professional and will be enabled at a maximum of 25% capacity

according to the amount of air changes per hour

of its ventilation system.

From the AHRCC, Amoroso celebrated the possibility of the reopening of the classrooms.

"Gastronomy is a great family and being able to be in contact with our customers again through our bars, our restaurants and our bars

fills us with joy,

" he said.

Likewise, he demanded greater support and encouragement from the governments of the City and the Nation.

"For example, we need the Gross Income exemption to be extended for one year, to have the ATP program until March and to be able to refinance the debts that we have accumulated, both tax and with the banks," he concluded.
