Lewis Hamilton's 92nd victory
Another demonstration.
In difficulty at the start following the few drops that fell on Portimao, the Briton did not panic despite losing the benefit of his pole position.
Third at the end of the first lap, Hamilton got back on Sainz then on Bottas to take the lead on the 20th lap.
He never let go after that.
Chaining the lap records.
Monstrous.
He thus signs his 92nd career success and erases Michaël Schumacher from the shelves.
What else?

Leclerc solid fourth
This place at the foot of the podium looks like a victory for Charles Leclerc.
Perfect in qualifying since he had managed to climb to Q3 with mediums, he benefited in the race with a first long stint.
Since the fifth round of the season, Ferrari had never finished so well classified.
The Monegasque delivered another solid race, on a one-stop strategy, with a delicate single-seater.
Valuable points for the Scuderia.

Gasly continues to shine
What a race for the Frenchman!
Ninth on the grid, the AlphaTauri driver took a magnificent fifth place at the end of an attack race with several magnificent overtaking, like the one on Perez at the end of the race.
In twelve Grand Prix this season, Gasly has finished eight times in points.
Sign of a beautiful regularity.
This allows him to be ninth in the drivers' standings (63 units), just twelve points behind Charles Leclerc, fifth.

Albon, the end is near
Severely criticized by Helmut Marko, Red Bull boss Alex Albon had two races to recover (Portugal included).
As much to say it immediately, it is badly started.
Sixth on the grid, twelfth at the finish.
The Thai was one lap behind Hamilton at halfway and finished one lap behind teammate Max Verstappen.
The sky darkens very clearly above Albon who, barring a feat at Imola, next weekend, should lose his seat at Red Bull next year.

Stroll to the limit
He had already stood out in free practice on Friday when he clashed with Max Verstappen at the first corner.
On Saturday, the Canadian missed his qualifications with a modest twelfth time.
Sunday, his race was no better.
Like Friday, the Racing Point driver tried to overtake Norris at the first corner, leaving no room for his opponent.
Result?
An inevitable clash.
Car damaged and a five-second penalty.
To which was added another for not respecting the limits of the route.
The chalice to the dregs for Stroll who finally gave up.
To forget.
Is Bottas still motivated?
Being Lewis Hamilton's teammate doesn't have to be easy.
But all the same.
Deprived of pole in the dying seconds of qualifying, Bottas took the lead at the end of the first lap in Portimao.
He even led until the twentieth lap before falling apart.
The Finn then lost almost a second per lap to the six-time world champion with the same car.
Intriguing all the same.
So the question arises.
Is Valtteri Bottas still motivated or has he just been hit too many times on the head to get up?
In the meantime, the Finn is doing the job of second driver perfectly for Mercedes.
