Two people were arrested on Friday by the Municipal Police of the Mérida state, in the Venezuelan Andes, when they faked the transfer of a person who died from covid-19 with the aim of allowing them to first fill up fuel in line from the Bella Vista sector service station located in the Andean state.
This in the midst of an acute fuel crisis that mainly affects the regions of the country where citizens have to stay for long hours and even days, waiting to fill their fuel tanks.
The queues are longer when it comes to gas stations at a subsidized price.
Mérida is one of the states most affected by fuel shortages.
