After long suffering for the people of the garbage dump located within the artisanal area in Douma city in the Damascus countryside, the garbage accumulated in it for about eight years has begun to be transferred to the garbage dump located in Al Ghazlaniyah, which has an area of about 25 dunums and a height of three meters.
The head of the local council in Douma, Engineer Adnan Maikah, explained in a statement to the delegate of SANA that the transfer process is carried out according to an initial contract worth 25 million pounds, pointing out that there are later contracts for the removal of all waste from the landfill, noting that about 7 thousand cubic meters of waste are transferred daily.
Maikah revealed the existence of a study for the establishment of a private landfill in Douma, located outside it, and will be ready next year, pointing out in another context that four contracts have been completed to asphalt the main streets and work is underway to implement the remaining contracts soon.

The removal of rubble and rubble is underway, according to Burhan Al-Aboud, head of the local council, explaining that the town began to shake off the effects of terrorism after the return of 2,500 residents out of 15,000 people, and services began gradually returning to the town.
Al-Aboud pointed out that the town’s streets, the sewage network, the excavation and the rehabilitation of one of the schools have been maintained with the support of the people, 65 million pounds have been allocated to start the rehabilitation of two schools and a new electrical transmission center has been installed to deliver electricity to all neighborhoods.
