After the revelation that the Government had put under analysis the possibility of suspending next year's PASO, the Secretary for Political Affairs of the Ministry of the Interior, Patricia García Blanco, assured that from her body and the National Electoral Directorate (DINE) "is working under the current electoral schedule" and assured that any proposal to modify or alter the current scheme "
must be carried out by law and debated in the National Congress
."
He also reported that as part of the task of organizing those elections there were conversations with "the representatives of the provincial political parties."
In its Sunday edition, Clarín reported on the existence of an alternative in government circles to deactivate the Simultaneous and Compulsory Open Primaries, under the main argument that this would save economic resources.
The Ministry official led by Eduardo "Wado" de Pedro also explained that together with Diana Quiodo, head of the DINE, "
they continue to work jointly with the Ministry of Health and Justice in the evaluation of sanitary and prevention measures for the elections nationals of 2021, in case the pandemic scenario that Argentina and the world are going through persists
".

García Blanco made these statements after participating in the assistance operation that allowed almost 8,000 citizens of Chile residing in Argentina to participate in the Constitutional Plebiscite that the neighboring country carried out, it was reported in a statement.
