Kenya West continues its US presidential campaign.
In an interview with comedian Joe Rogen's popular podcast that aired yesterday (Saturday), the rapper said the desire to serve as the leader of the free world was inspired by God.
"God came up with the idea back in 2015, a few days before the MTV Awards. It hit me while I was in the shower," he said.
"When I first thought about it I just burst out laughing, and joy flooded my body and soul."

He admitted that his friends tried to dissuade him from launching a presidential campaign and thought it was a joke.
Meanwhile, Jennifer Aniston voted in the mail yesterday.
The post she posted to Instagram ended with a call to refrain from voting for West because "it's not funny."
West said he believes his creativity and ability to score goals make him a worthy contender against Trump and Biden.
"There's no better time than this to put a visionary in the captain's chair," he noted.
He said if he did not win the presidential election, the possibility of him serving as California governor like Ronald Reagan would be considered for him.
"If God plans for me to be governor it's fine, but I'm aiming for the position of leader of the free world."

West plans to run for president in the next four years: "I'm one hundred percent sure I'll win in 2024, and I think I can be the Democratic candidate."
