The ministers approved the imposition of a closure on Majdal Shams from tomorrow for five days

The Druze village on the slopes of Mount Hermon will be declared a restricted area from tomorrow at 6:00 PM until next Saturday.

The Ministerial Committee for the Declaration of a Restricted Area this evening (Sunday) approved the declaration of Majdal Shams as a restricted area from tomorrow at 6:00 PM until next Saturday.

This is in accordance with the recommendation of the Ministry of Health and Corona Supervisor Prof. Roni Gamzo.

The decision to impose a limited area on the locality was made in accordance with the morbidity data in the locality, so that for five days the locality passed the score of 8 in the traffic light index, and in order to deal with the increasing morbidity data.

Corona Commissioner Prof. Roni Gamzo said that in three weeks the traffic light program could return to operation, and that already today restrictions should be imposed on certain localities that are defined as red, or at high risk of becoming such.

Gamzo explained that "after consulting with the municipality, we want to impose a general closure including a crown on Majdal Shams. In flashing, red and orange cities there are packages tailored to each one."

"We will attack the cities to stop their flicker," he said.
