The “Tales from Lattakia” event honored the winners of its literary and artistic competitions during a concert and art exhibition, with the conclusion of the activities that were held by the International Junior Chamber in Lattakia over a period of five months.

The works participating in the artistic competition were dedicated to the art gallery of Dar al-Assad for culture within a plastic art exhibition that included more than 100 works that varied in terms of techniques and methods used from oil, acrylic and water photography in addition to photography, graphics and mandala art. Its themes were inspired by the diversity of nature and the archaeological sites that characterize the province of Lattakia And its heritage professions in addition to many portraits and drawings of the participating children.

A group of students from the Mahmoud Al-Ajjan Conservatory, under the supervision of musician Hussein Salhab, played on the Dar Al-Assad theater a selection of the governorate's musical and singing heritage.

Muhammad Shammout, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Young Chamber “Syria”, said in a statement to SANA's correspondence that the Tales project from Lattakia, which was established in cooperation with the Lattakia Governorate and the Directorate of Culture, constitutes one of the programs that the Chamber holds and focuses on the cultural and cultural heritage and richness of Syria and its diversity among the governorates, stressing the work to provide more Of the projects that focus on development directly, socially and economically, in addition to heritage and culture.

Nour Daly, local vice president of the Latakia Chamber for the Community Sphere, stated that the aim of the project is to illuminate the heritage and to introduce the richness and cultural diversity in Lattakia and the traditional handicrafts that are still to this day and to shed light on young talents and encourage artistic creativity, indicating that the project witnessed widespread interest as the number of participants reached more Of 200 people with a committee of 35 people divided into teams to follow up the different aspects of the project.

The project director, Dana Mikhael, explained that the idea was launched as a cultural festival on the Internet and a new initiative that is the first of its kind in Syria and emerged due to the conditions of quarantine and the application of spatial distancing, noting that work is underway with the Ministry of Culture to print the most prominent works of the participants in the literary competition in a book to be published later.
