In support of the educational process and in the framework of facilitating distance education, the Communications and Post Regulatory Authority announced that the necessary technical solutions have been prepared to allow students and teaching staff to access local educational websites for free.

The commission said in a statement today that SANA received a copy of it today, “Based on the memorandum of understanding signed between the Ministry of Communications and Technology and the Ministry of Education, the technical solutions necessary for the entry of the teaching staff and students to local educational sites have been prepared through most Internet service providers and the Syrian Telecom Company, so that the volumes of data usage for these are The sites are free of charge on fixed internet lines (EDSL) and (FTTX). ”

The authority indicated that cellular packages were launched at both the two cellular companies, Syriatel and (MTN), with 6 and 10 gigabytes, at reasonable prices 1000 and 1500 Syrian pounds, so that these packages were used to access local educational sites.

The authority called on universities, educational institutions and schools that have local educational content to communicate with them to include their educational sites in the lists of operators so that access to the content available on these sites is free on the fixed-line Internet and is available according to the cellular packages designated for educational purposes.

On the fourth of this month, the Ministries of Communications, Technology and Education signed a memorandum of understanding allowing students of all educational levels to access various scientific sites and the Syrian scientific content on the local services of the Ministry of Education for free, in a way that contributes to enriching the educational process.
