Gil and his wife Dana, who live in the Sharon area, did not imagine that the Tishrei holidays would be passed between life and death.

During Rosh Hashanah, Dana suffered a heart attack and collapsed in her home.

The age of her husband, who only a month earlier took the CPR course at MDA, saved her life thanks to the tools he acquired, and together with the MDA team was able to restore her pulse.

She was recently released from the hospital with a big smile.

Gil and Dana Hasowitz Gordon, a couple from the Sharon in their 40s, experienced an event during Rosh Hashanah that almost ended in a terrible tragedy.

Fortunately, Gil underwent an MDA resuscitation course, in which he participated in the AllRide mountain bike club of which he is a member. During the course, which dealt mainly with cardiac arrest and the defibrillator, Gil acquired important and life-saving tools and prayed that he would not have to use them in the future.

During Rosh Hashanah, Dana felt distressed in her chest, had difficulty breathing and collapsed - her husband Gil found her on the floor in the shower room of their home when she was vaguely conscious.

Gil immediately dialed 101 to Magen David Adom and called an ambulance and at the same time began to treat her as he had learned in the resuscitation course, thus saving her life.

Regarding those moments of horror, Gil said: "As soon as I realized when something was wrong, I called MDA to call for help and explained to them what had happened.

Her whole body was hard and she did not respond, and then suddenly she let go and did not respond.

I immediately remembered the resuscitation course and realized that a heart massage should be started.

I functioned like a robot, I did not have time to think and digest. "

On the continuation of the treatment he added:" A few minutes later the MDA team arrived and continued the treatment. They took matters into their own hands, gave her electric shocks and medication and continued the massages until her heart beat again. "I was afraid she would not get out of it alive. There was a very big panic, and fortunately for us the story was behind us. She had a heart attack, was breathing and anesthetized, and today she is at home! It's a miracle. We are still in rehabilitation and there is more work,

About the previous course he said: "I am now a follower of the course and tell it to all my friends, family and the environment. Who would have believed that the little course I took would save my wife's life. Inside I knew the course was so important - it was engraved in my memory and I was able to function successfully. I wanted to thank the MDA staff - the medic at the hotline who instructed me on what to do, the paramedic Ahmad Abu Shah and the ambulance staff and the hospital staff who acted resolutely and fought for her life.

They are life-saving angels. "

MDA paramedic Ahmad Abu Shah said:" When we arrived at the house, we continued the resuscitation operations that Gil had started, and for about a quarter of an hour we treated Dana with electric shocks, medication, massages and souls. In critical medical care also on the way to the hospital.I visited her in hospital and could not believe she recovered so quickly. When I was told she was in good condition I had chills and tears came down.It is amazing and it gives me the fuel to continue saving lives at work. When I got to her house and saw the kids down Waiting in fear - I knew I had to help them and save Mom.
