For at least five weeks, the

Red Circle

has been wondering what the dollar of panic is in Argentina.

To what extent the abrupt devaluation of the peso can be avoided with a red-hot market.

For Alberto Fernández, the thermometer seemed to reach a critical point on Thursday after noon.

The parallel dollar rose to 190 pesos and the gap with the official climbed to 143%.

The pressure was no longer just external.

His own collaborators approached him to convey unease and request urgent action.

The President decided to summon Martín Guzmán to his office in the Casa Rosada to speak alone.

"Fix this,"

he ordered.

The Minister of Economy asked for time.

There are those who speak of a period of between ten days and two weeks.

Others say it is too much if the curve does not stop.

Alberto replied to his dolphin that now the entire control board is under his power.

That he continues to trust him, but that there can be no more excuses and that the room for maneuver has narrowed.

The other day after the talk, the dollar took another leap.

The parallel closed the week at $ 195 and the exchange gap stretched to 149.5%.

Part of the discussion in Balcarce 50, perhaps late, is why Guzmán focuses almost exclusively on the legal currency and does not look closely enough at the movements of the blue dollar.

Simple.

The minister insists that it does not alter prices and that it is a marginal market.

He does not recognize it.

He looks in disbelief, even at the cover of the newspapers.

You have wondered why it is given so much importance.

"It is the official who matters," he crushes when he talks to businessmen and journalists in private and tries to explain his logic.

The executives he has been meeting with in recent days turned their backs on him.

They suggested reviewing his position:

"The officer is not the one that our headquarters look at."

Kristalina Georgieva, the head of the IMF, with the Minister of Economy Martín Guzmán.

The first president feels the harassment.

Unlike Guzmán, he suffered the historical fluctuations of the currency from different positions of the State.

You know what it entails.

That made in recent weeks he has tried to turn around.

He explicitly asked for help and distanced himself from Cristina.

Minimal, it's true

.

It will be seen when the foam goes down to where it is the product of need or a new way of exercising power.

Anyway, he's flirted with the business system again.

The dialogue with that universe had cooled down after he met with the so-called Group of Six on July 9, and a few days later the vice president adhered to the idea that negotiations with the establishment can only yield "more disappointment."

Paolo Rocca, the CEO of Techint, stopped being a miserable in the presidential consideration.

Now he is the one that can contribute investments in Vaca Muerta from the hand of Tecpetrol, the group's oil company.

Also, the company that could desist from its judgment of the State for issues that are carried over from the Macrista era in exchange, among other points that are still debated, to rejoin the Gas Plan.

That was discussed on Monday at lunch at the Olivos residence, which was also attended by Techint's corporate director, Luis Betnaza, and ministers Guzmán and Eduardo de Pedro.

The conclave was not as friendly as it was intended to install, but respect prevailed.

The executives took promises of peace.

On Thursday, Fernández and Guzmán had lunch with Marcos Bulgheroni, the CEO of Pan American Energy.

It was another attempt to send signals and ask for collaboration in the face of imbalances in economic activity.

The wheel of calls, messages by WhatsApp and

other encounters that did not transcend

seek to generate a dose of certainty in the midst of the chaos.

That initiative had debuted eleven days ago at the IDEA Colloquium.

In all the formal and informal talks, Guzmán assured that the state of the Central Bank's reserves are not to be alarmed.

He asked not to listen to those who speak of an agonizing situation and promised that a quick agreement with the IMF will ease tensions.

The economist stressed that there will be no devaluation, although he slipped that the official exchange rate will experience small increases ("microdevaluations", they call them in their environment) in the short term.

There is talk of a ten percent jump.

The big question is whether, when that happens, the parallel will not have hit a new twist that makes it insignificant.

Paolo Rocca, the CEO of Techint, met a few days ago with Alberto Fernández.

Businessmen demand clear rules from now on.

Know where the country is going.

What is the model

.

They don't even ask about Cristina's role anymore.

They assume that it is and will be preponderant and that the struggle for power in the Frente de Todos will be part of their efforts until 2023. They are concerned with more urgent issues.

"We are concerned to know if they are seeing the iceberg, for example,"

as one of the executives who had a recent meeting with Máximo Kirchner said.

Just as in meetings prior to this stage the

Red Circle

criticized the judicial reform, in the list of claims that go outside the dollar and the economy

in this round, the land grab was slipped

.

They are not synonymous with a present state or respectful of private property, it was said.

Alberto insists they are illegal.

It is a sensitive subject for him.

Anything you say can turn into a dangerous boomerang.

In the ruling coalition there are opposing positions.

In the coalition and within each administration.

Not everyone thinks the same in the Nation, nor in the province of Buenos Aires.

This week an unprecedented event occurred.

In one of the fields denounced, that of the Etchevehere family in Entre Ríos - beyond the family fight over the land and whether Dolores Etchevehere gave a portion to Juan Grabois' group -

a national official spent the night.

Gabriela Carpineti, the national director of Promotion and Strengthening of Access to Justice, argued that she did it to avoid acts of violence.

Some ministers found out about the case on television.

"Does an official sleep in a shot and we're not going to do anything?

" Asked a man who aspires to more forceful gestures from Alberto.

Several suggested that she be fired.

Fernández did not like them

.

Maybe it wouldn't be that easy.

Carpineti responds to Grabois.

Grabois, as Ignacio Zuleta revealed in

Clarí

n

, comes from seeing himself face to face with Pope Francis.

Since then, the leader has done nothing more than raise the profile.

Just in case:

his dialogue with Christianity has not been interrupted either.

The vice prolongs her silence.

It reduced appearances and meetings.

They say that he is afraid of catching coronavirus and that this prevents him from seeing his granddaughter, Helena Vaca Narvaja Kirchner, with whom he spends long days in his daughter Florencia's apartment, especially on weekends.

Cristina keeps asking for changes.

Changes, according to your palate.

Seriously, no makeup.

The relationship with Alberto is cold.

On Tuesday they could meet again face to face before the cameras, in a ceremony at the CCK, where a statue of Kirchner will be placed to commemorate the 10 years of his death.

Before that, the government will have to go through another 48 difficult hours.

Cross your fingers so that in the caves of Buenos Aires the parallel dollar does not emerge with the 2 ahead.
