A worker died Monday, October 26 on a construction site in the Rouen metropolitan area, accidentally beheaded by an excavator he was guiding, AFP learned from a police source.

The victim, aged 59, worked for a company which carried out work on a fuel depot site in Grand-Quevilly (Seine-Maritime), in the agglomeration of Rouen, indicates the same source.

The excavator, during a maneuver, must have struck the victim and beheaded him,
" added this source.
The victim was guiding the excavator and dump truck was also nearby.
The ongoing investigation must determine the precise causes of the accident.
