The future flagship project will cost 2.2 million euros.

The community also wants to attract educators with integrated apartments.

Krün - Krün is building ahead, but primarily for the future: with the groundbreaking for the future daycare center, the Isartal community has set an important signal in times of the Corona: the public sector is willing to invest - and local businesses benefit from this.

"I am pleased that after the tenders with Hubert Achner from Wallgau and Josef Heilinglechner from Walchensee we were able to include two regional companies in our construction project," explained Mayor Thomas Schwarzenberger (CSU), who likes to break the ground for a few small Krüners and kindergarten leaders Doris Winter gave way.

All in all, the municipality assumes total costs of around 2.2 million euros - 30 percent subsidized by the Bavarian taxpayer.

The project, which is mainly financed by the municipality and for which the preparatory excavation work has already started, was planned by the Oberau architect Christoph Albl.

The Krün Church Foundation, represented at the groundbreaking ceremony by Pastor Michael Wehrsdorf and Franz-Paul Reindl junior, is the owner of the property and operator of the St. Sebastian kindergarten - almost 50 boys and girls as well as seven supervisors.

"This crib can only be good for our little ones," emphasized Reindl.

In the best of hands

The community has also taken over the meadow in front of the kindergarten and used as a playground during the construction work on a long lease from the church foundation.

"I am grateful to the Krün community because the children are in the best of hands here," emphasized the pastor Wehrsdorf.

"Now I only hope for a successful implementation of the work."

The construction site is separated from the rest of the kindergarten area by a fence, which can only be reached from the south - from Ramweg.

"The barrier was erected out of consideration for our children," emphasizes the town hall chief.

"This ensures smooth and accident-free execution of the construction work." Schwarzenberger only wants one thing for the current crisis year: "I hope that the shell can be completed this year and that we can initiate the tender for the interior work."

16 by 12 meters in size

The 16 by 12 meter extension planned for the main building on the previous playground provides for a group room, a changing room and a bedroom for the very youngest of the facility, and three granny apartments with 85, 75 and 50 square meters on the first floor (we reported).

“Maybe”, hopes Schwarzenberger, “we will find skilled workers for the extended kindergarten”.

Manager Winter can only welcome this.

“The majority of our new admissions are less than three years.

Without enlargement we would have big problems.

That is why we are happy that the Krün community is so committed to us. "
