Following the "Israel Today" investigation, the storm on Netivei Israel is reaching the Knesset.

This morning (Monday), MK Keren Barak (Likud) submitted a query to the Minister of Transportation, Miri Regev, (Likud) and demands a halt to the controversial tender, amounting to a billion shekels for replacing lighting fixtures on intercity roads due to the serious suspicions arising from it. For a conflict of interest.

It was also learned that MK Barak is demanding a comprehensive investigation by the Minister of Transportation due to the serious suspicions arising from the tender, as revealed in "Israel Today."

As you may recall, about ten days ago, a huge tender was issued by Netivei Israel for the execution of electrical and lighting work worth hundreds of millions of shekels, which is causing a stir among companies in the field.

According to them, the terms of the tender prevent them from participating and create an invalid conflict of interest.

The companies have filed a complaint with the Netivei Israel Tenders Committee and are threatening to appeal to the court.

Netivei Israel, the national transportation infrastructure company, is responsible for the planning, development and maintenance of the intercity road network and railway tracks in all parts of the country.

The tender it published about two months ago concerns the conversion of lighting fixtures into LEDs, the provision of maintenance services for systems and electrical and lighting facilities, and the execution of initiated work.

According to the companies' representatives, the tender sets unreasonable threshold conditions, including a requirement for an annual turnover of NIS 200 million and the execution of two projects amounting to NIS 100 million each.

In previous tenders, Netivei Israel demanded a turnover of only a few tens of millions of shekels.

This means that only a limited number of giant companies, and not experienced infrastructure companies, who have successfully carried out electrical work for Netivei Israel in the past, will be able to attend this tender.
