The "headstone" state, so Pennsylvania was called because of its centrality among the 13 colonies.

The 2020 election brought Pennsylvania, where U.S. independence was declared on July 4, 1776, back to the center of the stage.

Both sides focus on it as if it were the year 2000 of Florida, and rightly so.

In 2016 Trump managed to “steal” it from the Democrats after 28 years of voting for them, and now he is trying to do it again by emphasizing the coal and oil shale industries and other factories that will be forced to close due to Joe Biden’s green policies.

Pennsylvania is a virtue in the most classical sense of the word: in the East it is as liberal as New York, in the Midwest it tends to Democrats like Ohio but not liberal, and in the middle it is as conservative as Alabama.

If that's not enough, Philadelphia's suburbs are unpredictable, befitting the city where independence has been declared.

That is why Trump arrived in the country yesterday and held three huge rallies there.

Biden leads in the polls, and probably also in the early U.S. vote (the number of votes cast earlier this year has already crossed the early voting volume four years ago and stands at more than 60 million). But Trump has the energy and momentum, as well as the "base" enthusiasm. Which has begun to flock to the polls in recent days, including in Florida. One of the surprising phenomena is that young black men are voting for it at a disproportionate rate compared to other black voters.

The polls in key states that will decide the election show a borderline advantage for most of Biden, but also statistical equality, particularly in Ohio, Florida and North Carolina.

There is therefore no consensus among experts as to the spectrum of options in the election.

The range could range from a landslide victory for Biden with well over 270 electors to a surprise 2016-style Trump victory.

Trump, who never stops running, arrived yesterday in the lovable little town of Litz in the heart of Pennsylvania's conservative area, a very agricultural and religious area inhabited by a large community of devout Amish, who move from place to place in horse-drawn carriages and have become an integral part of nearby Lancaster.

I met someone there named Debbie.

She lives in a very red area but she, like all her friends, is liberal and votes for Democrats.

Always.

"Optimistic?", I ask.

"I'm very scared ... there are days when I feel like Biden wins and there are days when I don't."

Trump is fighting for every vote in Pennsylvania's conservative counties, because Biden is nonetheless more popular and warm than Clinton.

But yesterday at the Blitz rally it seemed like all of Pennsylvania was red.

There were many Amish (who do not believe in Corona and insist on not wearing masks), and all of them - according to the proclamation that promoted the following - vote for Trump.

In general, everyone came in a good mood to the rally, as if it were a football game, wrapped in Trump flags.

 This is growth, idiot

In his speech Trump reminded them of the growth during his tenure.

He stressed that Biden is held captive by environmental activists, who want to prevent residents from this growth.

He stressed that the corona plague would pass.

"And we'll make a comeback, no one can make a comeback better than us," Trump said.

"We are the most powerful country in the world," he continued to the roaring roar of "USA."

He also teased Biden, who does not make public appearances: "I can not lock myself in the basement of the White House because I have work to do."

Trump does not believe the polls.

He's sure he's the real house boy in the "headstone" state.

Trump must get as many votes as possible in the heart of Red Pennsylvania, and also split into two equal parts the votes of suburban voters, as he did in 2016, especially in the Philadelphia area.

I also met Jim.

He grew up in Pennsylvania but studied in Nashville, Tennessee.

He is a libertarian, meaning he does not believe in any party and wants non-governmental intervention in all areas, and therefore does not support anyone.

He says the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which confers a basic right to bear personal arms, is one of the most important things, which is why support for Trump in this area of the country, many of whose residents are hunters, is so great.

"Obviously he has a chance. I'm a retiree in education. I have many teachers around me who think Trump is a clown, but Biden does not excite them."

 Not a local, a politician

The fact that Trump waged a campaign here four years ago and won makes us think he will do it again.

He can definitely win.

Biden is really unloved here, though he says he is a local and grew up 80 miles away.

For them, he is no longer a local, but a politician, and Trump is exactly like them.

Suddenly while driving I see a lovely black horse with an Amish son inside his little carriage.

If there are carriages already, it seems the Democrats are already harnessing the carriage in front of the horses and sewing suits.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is already treating Biden as president. Her approach reflects a growing democratic mindset that Biden's victory would lead to Democrats taking over the Senate as well. Indeed, the situation of some Republican senators, especially in Maine and Iowa, is not good.

Either way, the hardest week for both sides has begun, and Trump is not letting go.

It was announced yesterday that 11 rallies will be held in the last 48 hours of the campaign.

This is his way of getting free media and fending off mass mobilization in favor of Biden, who while not holding mass rallies, is bombarding the media with broadcasts.

Yesterday Trump also recorded a tremendous achievement: the appointment of Judge Amy Connie Barrett was expected to be approved in the Senate.

The third appointment to the top of the president.

Vice President Pence, who was exposed to Corona because of the sticking of his staff, did not go into isolation and remained as Senate President to conduct the vote.

The appointment guarantees a solid conservative majority in the Supreme Court, which may also decide the election results, if they are close.

Everything is at stake in a week, but the election seems to be just around one figure: a man named Trump.
