The head of Iranian diplomacy, Mohammad Javad Zarif, denounced Monday (October 26th) before the General Assembly of the United Nations the American wars fought since 2001 under the pretext, according to him, of a fight against terrorism, having resulted in the loss of “
hundreds of thousands of innocent lives
”.
These conflicts "
have shattered societies and families
" and led to "
unprecedented extremism
", added the Iranian minister in a video speech recorded for a virtual summit organized by the UN for its 75th anniversary.

"
It's time to change that, to spare American blood and wealth
" in order to avoid new conflicts, he added as a vast map of the world had been laid out behind him on the wars fought by Washington since the anti-American attacks of 9/11.
“
At 75, our United Nations must re-engage together against unilateralism and war,
” concluded Mohammad Javad Zarif.
The virtual summit of the 75th anniversary of the United Nations was held on September 21 but the length of the videos, exceeding the three minutes initially imposed, had led to its interruption with a postponement until Monday of the continuation and end of the interventions.
According to UN sources, a majority of speeches made on Monday were recorded more than a month ago and have not been updated.
