The Minister of Justice and the Chairman of the Bar Association have decided on the establishment of a committee which will discuss the format of the agreement • Nissenkorn: "The low transition rate reflects a problem"

The Minister of Justice, Avi Nissenkorn, and the Chairman of the Bar Association, Avi Chimi, announced this evening (Monday) the reappointment of the Committee for the Examination of the Certification in Law in order to promote a reform of the pre-internship certification. .

This is due to the increase in the proportion of those with legal education who do not pass the certification exams of the Bar Association, and in order to avoid mental anguish.

The reform comes after repeated claims against the exam structure.

The committee, headed by (retired) Judge David Cheshin, is expected to convene as early as next Sunday and will examine, in addition to changing the exam before the internship, other possible changes and will submit its conclusions to the Minister of Justice within 3 months.

Those who fail the same exam will not be able to continue their law studies, but this will be determined at an early stage and not after much of the internship.

Justice Minister Avi Nissenkorn said: "The low pass rate in the bar exams reflects a real problem in the lawyers' certification process. This situation creates uncertainty among students and interns, and a sense of severe injustice.

Along with maintaining professional and quality certification in this sensitive profession, we must make sure that no unnecessary mental anguish is created among those who have worked hard, studied and specialized in the long-awaited degree of lawyer.

The committee will examine a number of alternatives and present its conclusions soon so that we can promote an improved and effective certification outline as early as next year. "

The head of the Bar Association, Adv. Avi Chimi, said: "I am confident that the final recommendations of the committee will lead to a proper regulation of the certification process and the prevention of a state of mental anguish and uncertainty on the part of those seeking entry into the profession.

All this, while maintaining the quality of the legal profession and creating a suitable and appropriate training track.

I would like to thank the Minister of Justice for his full cooperation in this matter and for extending the appointment of the committee members, to whom I would like to wish success and thank them for their willingness to contribute their time and energy for the future of the legal profession. "
