The Corona Cabinet approved tonight (Monday) the opening of beauty salons and hairdressers starting this coming Sunday (November 1).

In fact, all "one-on-one" activities have been approved that include, among other things, personal fitness training and driving lessons.

Ministers postponed the decision to open trade to another hearing on Thursday.

This is a victory for Health Minister Yuli (Yoel) Edelstein, who opposed the opening.

Finance Minister Israel Katz responded to the cabinet's decision: "I am not prepared for the Ministry of Health's veto on operating small businesses that have found themselves in a difficult situation due to the ongoing closure."

Regarding returning to school, Education Minister Yoav Galant (who is not a member of the Corona Cabinet) was interviewed by News 12 and said that grades 1-2 will open next week in a "four to five days a week" format.

This is a change from the plan approved only yesterday by the ministers, according to which the same classes will return to only three school days a week.

In a discussion that took place at noon between the Ministries of Finance and Health mediated by the National Security Council, regarding the outline for opening trade, no agreements were reached.

Regarding the resumption of school activities, a proposal has been made that first- and second-graders will study in split groups and will be required to wear masks.

At the same time, the ministers are discussing the opening of lunches - which is expected to create a mix between the capsules.

During the hearing, Corona Superintendent Prof. Roni Gamzo presented a disturbing statistic that there is a fear of hidden illness in Corona.

Meanwhile, in an urgent conversation between the Ministry of Education and the local government, the mayors sharply attacked the Ministry of Education against the background of the Corona Cabinet's decision to partially return the education system to first and second grades, in an outline decided last night in the Corona Cabinet.

During the conversation, mayors expressed great frustration with the outline approved last night in the Cabinet, saying: "We will not allow the Ministry of Education to hurt civilians so rudely, there is no justification for half days. Sad we are 9 months into the corona crisis and the state insists on repeating the same mistakes ".

Education Minister Yoav Galant: "There is complete opposition from the Minister of Health to the situation where we open full-class classes on Sunday. It came from ten ministers who sat yesterday, came from the finance bureaucracy and the prime minister accepted. If the process leads to what you say, that is "That the mayors act differently from the government's decisions, I suggest that if this is the case - go to the prime minister and tell him that you do not intend to do things."

In addition, the Corona Committee today discussed the morbidity data in the education system and their effect on the outline of return to studies.

The debate comes amid a sharp attack by mayors against Education Minister Yoav Galant: "The decision to open education is a political solution at the expense of our children. We have offered you a full 5-day solution, so why go on half days? This is a failure not to let the authorities address "In a crisis. In the cabinet's decision, there is no point in opening the education system on November 1, we are once again working on the public eye."

The committee's chairman, MK Yifat Shasha-Bitton, said at the beginning of the discussion: "We must think about the day after. If we took everything and recognized the opportunity, we could create an education system that works differently today and better. Unfortunately, the discourse around education is administrative and not "Educational, and that's why we're at this point."

Prof. Ronit Calderon-Margalit, a public health expert and professor of epidemiology, noted that only about 5% of super-epidemics of the epidemic would be attributed to children up to the age of 17. She said the outbreak began about ten days after the education system was fully opened, but later There has actually been a decline - and this is proof that the education system is not necessarily the distributor. The distribution is by many different educators for one class, so one educator must be careful for each class.

Prof. Calderon-Margalit also referred to the Arab sector: "After the Feast of Sacrifice, the mass wedding began very densely and there was a large increase in morbidity throughout the sector. This increase changed direction on September 14, where a decrease in morbidity can be seen even though the education system was open."

Dr. Sharon Elroy, head of public health at the Ministry of Health, said during the hearing: "I should emphasize that we do not attribute the increase in childhood morbidity to the start of the school year. It is clear that morbidity in early September represents infection at the end of August. "Schools were not the main or only cause of the increase in morbidity, but they played a part in it."

She said, "The serological survey was for people who came to the HMOs and sampled them, so it is difficult for me to give the rationale. But once this survey took place and there are its data, it can be said with certainty that the children tested have a high rate of positive antibodies." for example".

According to the back-to-school outline, first- and second-graders will study in shifts - either two groups that will study week after week alternately, or two groups that will share half a week in a class and a half in distance learning.

In third and fourth grades, classes will be held in small group capsules.

This morning it was reported in "Israel Today" that the local authorities are demanding that Prime Minister and Health Minister Yuli Edelstein provide another million corona tests this month, which cost a single dollar and are known within 15 seconds.

These are tests whose results are 90% accurate.

This is to open up the education and business systems.

A letter sent last night by the chairman of the local government center, Haim Bibbs, to the prime minister and the health minister states that "the solution to opening up the economy is already here - millions of non-invasive corona tests for results within 15 seconds, costing $ 1, await the Ministry of Health's approval."
