They kill a peon in a field of Coronel Suárez and beat the owners, 89 and 99 years old

The rural laborer José Alberto Baier had spent a year in the field of the Pugliese brothers, María Antonia (99) and Pedro Antonio (89), who according to a police chief had "adopted" him to help them in some tasks after suffering a stroke, in Colonel Suarez.

This Sunday night, the employee left the house, alarmed by the barking of the dogs, and was killed by a shot in the neck.

Everything happened after 8 pm, when Baier was in the rural establishment "San Luis", of Barracks XV, located on provincial route 85, near Pueblo Santa María.

“The Police become aware of a telephone call to 101 by a third party who was in communication with Pedro Pugliese at the time the criminals arrive at the field.

This person heard the shots and immediately called 101, "said Coronel Suárez Communal Police chief, Inspector Martin Otero.

Alerted to the call, the agents went to the establishment and surprised the thieves, who took the youngest of the elderly as a human shield, fired several shots and fled on foot through the field.

Upon entering the house, the police found the rural laborer dead and the brothers beaten, for which both were transferred to a health center.

"The criminals were looking for money, the house was in a mess but they didn't find anything," Otero told

.

As he explained, "there was no support vehicle nearby," although it is believed that an accomplice was waiting for them near the establishment.

For this reason, Personnel from the Rural Prevention Command (CPR), together with those from the Coronel Suárez Community Police and Investigations Subdelegation, carried out different operations in search of criminals.

The brothers were treated at the Coronel Suárez hospital.

Pedro was reportedly the one who was hit the hardest, especially in the face area.

The victims had suffered another assault in 2011.

The crime is investigated by the prosecutor Facundo Indart, of Coronel Suárez.
