The beautiful weather on Sunday once again lured numerous day trippers onto the streets - with consequences: In three accidents within a few hours in Peiting, Rottenbuch and Steingaden, several cyclists and motorcyclists were injured, some seriously.
Peiting -
According to the police, the first accident happened around 1:55 p.m.
A 61-year-old Kauferinger was driving his pedelec downhill to the sewage treatment plant in Birkland-Aichen when he lost control of his e-bike and fell - probably due to the wet leaves on the roadway.
The 61-year-old was seriously injured and was flown to a clinic by rescue helicopter.
The damage to the bike amounts to around 1000 euros.
Overlooked car due to low sun
An accident at 3:15 p.m. with a motorcyclist was less severe.
The 20-year-old Peißenberger was driving on the B 23 from Rottenbuch towards Peiting when he wanted to overtake a car driving in front of him.
According to his own statements, he overlooked an oncoming car because of the low sun. The Peißenberger tried to cut back to the right, but started to lurch and fell.
While the motorcycle slid into the oncoming car, the 20-year-old came to rest on the road.
He was slightly injured and was taken to a clinic by the ambulance service.
The property damage to the two vehicles amounts to around 2000 euros.
Car overlooks motorcycle on B17
Again, only a little later, the third accident that day happened, in which a motorcyclist was seriously injured.
At around 5:55 p.m., a 44-year-old from Butzau wanted to turn left into the B17 with his car.
He obviously misjudged the distance of a 56-year-old Steingadener who was traveling south on his motorcycle on the B17.
The motorcyclist crashed into the rear left door of the car and was seriously injured. He was taken to a hospital by ambulance service.
The driver and his passenger were uninjured.
The damage to the vehicles amounts to around 14,000 euros.
