attracted special attention because the virtual appointment was opened by Juan Grabois in his capacity as a reference for the Union of Workers of the Popular Economy of Argentina.
Strictly speaking,
the most striking thing is that the absence
occurred at a time when Grabois is being highly questioned, especially for endorsing that members of his group participate in the occupation of a field by the Etchevehere family in Entre Ríos, the center of a dispute. family that is settled in court, which sparked a wave of protests from ruralistas and criticism of entities that group them.
The Vatican did not inform about the reason for the failure to an appointment that the Pope gives special importance, despite the fact that, unlike the other calls, the presence of the pontiff was not necessary, but his participation was only required by teleconference with a message that he could eventually have recorded at a time that his schedule allowed.

Grabois established a fluid relationship in Buenos Aires with the then Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio, who appreciated his work in the field of popular economy to the point that already as Pope he appointed him consultant to the now defunct Justice and Peace Council of the Vatican (he was replaced by the ministry at the Service of Integral Human Development), but his mandate expired two years ago, without being renewed.
In the ecclesiastical circles it is considered that over the years Grabois
was politicizing his actions
and complicating the pontiff.
