The Corona traffic light in the district is red. For the first time since the outbreak of the pandemic, primary school students must wear a mask in class.
The girls and boys are highly praised by the rectors.
For the first time since the outbreak of the pandemic, elementary school students in the district have to wear a mask in class.
After the first day there is plenty of praise for the boys and girls.
Concepts for homeschooling already exist in primary schools.
Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen
- The Corona traffic light in the district is red. Thus, since Monday, primary school students have to wear a mask in class.
While some other districts have suspended this regulation, District Administrator Josef Niedermaier sees no leeway as reported.
Because increasing numbers of infections in the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district are not limited to a municipality or a public institution, but "with us, the new infections are diffusely distributed across all municipalities," says Niedermaier.
On Monday, our newspaper asked three schools as an example: “We have to live with the mask requirement first,” said Frank Schwesig, Rector of the primary and middle school on Hammerschmiedweg in Wolfratshausen.
The requirement of the education authority is clear.
Learning to read with a mask is a challenge
Schwesig and his team are looking after 372 primary school students, the first day with the tightened hygiene protection regulations went smoothly.
Currently there is only one middle school student who is exempt from the mask requirement due to a medical certificate.
“He is very sensible with it,” emphasizes Schwesig, the person concerned keeps a large distance from his classmates.
Not only in class, but also in the playground.
Schwesig admits that the mask requirement for primary school students is another challenge.
"Acquiring reading, that is, learning to read, is of course more difficult with a mask," says the Rector.
Among other things, the protective mask hinders the formation of sounds.
"Teachers and students now have to speak louder and more accentuated."
You implement the new rule very well, simply very confidently.
Hats off especially to the first graders. "
Sigrid Prommer, head of the Egling primary school
This is confirmed by Sigrid Prommer, head of the primary school in Egling.
She praises the 185 girls and boys in grades 1 to 4 inclusive, however, in the highest tones: “They implement the new rule very well, simply very confidently.
Hats off, especially to the first graders. ”The mask requirement was immediately discussed in class on Monday morning, and the primary school students were extremely understanding.
It goes as far as "that one helps the other if something goes wrong", for example the mask slipped under the nose.
Mask requirement was already discussed in class
“Everything worked,” says Rector Elke Goymann, giving the 430 girls and boys who attend the Karl Lederer primary school in Geretsried a very good report after day one.
Since it was foreseeable that the Corona traffic light would jump from yellow to red, the class teachers familiarized the children with the mask requirement at the end of last week.
According to Goymann, there is currently “only a few” resentments from the parents' ranks due to the new regulation.
In any case, Schwesig, Prommer, Goymann and their headmistress colleagues in the district want to prevent the homeschooling principle from applying again to primary school students.
Face-to-face teaching should be maintained for as long as possible, according to the appeal from the school office in Bad Tölz.
But there are concepts for the worst case scenario both at the Hammerschmiedschule and in Egling and Geretsried.
“We would cut classes in half,” explains Schwesig.
Example: Half of the 1a would receive face-to-face classes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the other half on Tuesday and Thursday.
Changes would take place on a weekly basis.
“In addition, we have already formed learning groups as a precaution,” reports Schwesig.
The schools have a concept for day X
According to Prommer, the Egling has an internal school concept that parents have already been informed about.
As in Wolfratshausen, the primary school classes would be divided.
Group A appears Monday and Tuesday for class, group B Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
There was a change every week.
In addition, a central tool for video conferences between teachers and students is now available.
The plans are ready in the drawer.
And the best would be if they stayed in the drawer. "
Elke Goymann, head of the Karl Lederer primary school in Geretsried
Prommer hopes that in addition to the mask requirement until the beginning of the autumn break next Friday, no further significant protective measures will have to be taken.
“We'll see further after the autumn break,” says Prommer pragmatically.
"We are prepared for all scenarios," states Goymann.
The plans “are ready in the drawer”, according to the director of the Karl Lederer primary school.
"And the best thing would be if they stayed in the drawer." (Cce)
