A man in his thirties was indicted Tuesday, October 27 in Valence after the fatal brawl that broke out Sunday evening in Saint-Vallier (Drôme) for a history of cigarettes, said the prosecution.

Placed in custody shortly after the facts, the man was to be presented at the end of the day before a judge of freedoms and detention, the prosecution having requested his placement in pre-trial detention.
In this case, a judicial investigation for “intentional homicide, attempted homicide and aggravated violence” was opened.
"A banal story of cigarettes" between a teenager of Romanian origin and people of North African origin led to a fight that cost the life of the young boy's mother. She had received a stab while trying to intervene. Six other people were injured, including two "quite seriously", said the same source.
