Beach volleyball players and horses like to play sports in the sand.
And so in 2021 a riding arena in Munich will be converted into a beach: The "Beach 38" wants to move into the Cavalluna horse park.
The
Cavalluna horse park
in
Munich-Fröttmaning
fell victim to the trade war between the USA and China.
There are now new plans for the
future after Corona
for the location near the Allianz Arena *
.
"
Beach 38
" could play
a role here
- after all, people have been looking for a home for a long time.
Munich - construction fences, bricks lying around and gravel areas on which weeds are sprouting - this is what it currently looks like around the 50 million euro
Cavalluna Park
project
in Fröttmaning
.
The horse adventure park has been closed for more than a year, and a quarter of its space will soon be sublet.
The company "Beach 38" wants to open a beach bar and beach volleyball facilities there in May 2021.
And Cavalluna is also planning to shift its focus in Fröttmaning to events.
Munich: trade war between USA and China forced horse park to stop
The beach bar operator Christian Biermann and the Pferdeparadies both had to lock up last year: the investor from the Far East turned off the money to Cavalluna Park and the associated show palace after the
trade war between China and the USA had
caused financial bottlenecks.
Beach 38 had its beach bar and beach volleyball facility in the Werksviertel and had to make way for the new development.
“I have visited all the halls in Munich since 2017, and at the end of last year I visited the Cavalluna Park in Fröttmaning,” says Biermann.
Now he is only waiting for the building permit and the final contractual details.
"We hope to get feedback from the city soon, if everything goes according to plan, we can open in May 2021."
@CAVALLUNA Park ends its 2019 season early at the end of September after no more funds can flow from the Chinese investor.
The reason for this is the trade conflict between China and the USA.

Biermann's plan: In the former riding arena,
six beach volleyball courts
with underfloor heating for warm sand are to be built, the stables will be turned into a beach bar and the cinema, in which horse films were previously shown, will become an event location.
He plans to invest around one million euros in the renovation.
"All in all, we're three to four times bigger than in the Werksviertel."
Cavalluna and Beach 38 side by side?
Weddings, other celebrations - and horse events planned
Cavalluna also wants to focus on
events
in the future
.
"It will no longer be the park that was originally planned," says Severin Pimperl, the Cavalluna location manager for Munich *.
The
horse adventure park
will not be rebuilt, and the show palace, in which horse shows originally ran daily, is now used differently: weddings, bar mitzvahs and Christmas parties have already been held there.
It is currently under discussion that the city council could meet in the hall with 1700 seats.
In the summer the booking of the hall got off to a promising start, now we are receiving some rejections again because of Corona *, ”says Pimperl.
His consolation for horse lovers: “In summer 2021 we are planning an action with horses!”
