Lesley Stahl is under protection due to death threats.
The television network has provided the journalist with 24-hour security due to threatening calls that were received at the home of one of her immediate relatives on the west coast, as reported by
TZM
.
The veteran reporter has guards monitoring her home and that of her family members as well as an escort if they go out in public.
The call came two days after Stahl interviewed President Donald Trump, who abruptly interrupted the meeting and left the television set because of the journalist's questions.
Two days later, the president published the unpublished video of the meeting on his social networks.
"Look at the prejudice, hatred and rudeness in the name of 60 Minutes and CBS," Trump wrote in the tweet linking the link to the interview uploaded to Facebook.

After 37 minutes of the interview, Trump ended the conversation without prior notice.
The video that the president published on his social networks shows Trump irritated by the way in which the veteran and renowned journalist was conducting the conversation.
“The first thing you said to me was, are you ready for tough questions?
That is not the way to speak, it is not the way to speak, ”he snapped.
CBS said that the White House's unprecedented decision to ignore the agreement "will not deter 60 Minutes from providing its full, fair and contextualized reporting that presidents have participated in for decades."
At one point in the interview, after Trump launched a battery of unfounded accusations against Biden and former President Obama, Stahl clarified: "This is 60 Minutes and we cannot put things that we cannot verify."
