Seeshaupt

- The fact that it is over after three and a half years has nothing to do with the corona pandemic, he emphasizes in an interview with our newspaper.

Rather, he wants to shift his focus to other business areas in the future.

Bischoff was a star chef for twelve years.

In 2013 he hung up his chef's apron to set off for new shores.

The first port: The restaurant "Ähndl" in the Murnauer Moos, which was extensively renovated and reopened with a Bavarian concept.

But because there were only 50 places available, no larger events were possible.

That is why in May 2017 he woke the “Haus am See” in Seeshaupt from its slumber to organize sophisticated celebrations and conferences there.

The former “Lido” with spacious rooms and a sun terrace directly on Lake Starnberg has become an exclusive gourmet address and an event location for weddings and other festivities.

"Last year we had 45 weddings in the Haus am See", reports managing director Stefan Köhler, this year there were only seven due to the corona pandemic.

But that is not the reason why the lease was terminated at the end of this year.

Because under the umbrella of “Bischoffs Gastronomie GmbH”, another mainstay has been created in the past few years: “We have developed special foods for people with chewing and swallowing problems (dysphagia)”, says Köhler.

If you want to enjoy the autumn atmosphere in the Haus am See again, you only have a few days left.

It is open until the end of October on Fridays from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.

"In November and December we will only handle the events that have already been booked," said Bischoff.

It is not yet clear how the exclusive restaurant will continue in the new year.
