Rennes: a CHU building evacuated after a threatening call of an attack

A building of the University Hospital of Pontchaillou, in Rennes, was evacuated Tuesday, October 27 in the late afternoon after a phone call threatening to carry out an attack, the hospital said.

It was not a bomb threat, but a threatening anonymous call that was made from a CHU building indicating that there would potentially be an attack, but it was not targeting this building.

The building was secured by the police and a judicial investigation was opened,

”said the communications department of the University Hospital Center.

The building concerned houses medical offices and day consultations.

No patient was there at the time of the incident, around 5:15 pm.

The medical staff, who were not very numerous, returned home

the police had not found objective elements allowing to go further

".

Additional police resources have been mobilized on the Pontchaillou site and the Southern Hospital of Rennes.

The hospital's security teams have also been reinforced.
