The State Comptroller, Matanyahu Engelman, said today (Tuesday) in the State Audit Committee that the full report on the treatment of the corona crisis will deal with, among other things, the decision-making processes.

Engelman made the remarks during a meeting of the State Audit Committee in the Knesset, at which the interim report he published yesterday was discussed.

"Immediately after the end of the first wave, we made an internal decision to update the State Comptroller's Annual Audit Plan and incorporate 15 horizontal issues into the work plan," Engelman said, including the issue of crisis management, Ministry of Health and Education "And various tasks that deal with all the audited bodies, including those who head them. Of course, we will examine many issues in this framework, both in terms of decision-making processes, both in terms of compliance with proper administration and moral purity, and in terms of efficiency and effectiveness."

The full report will address the decisions of the government and the cabinet.

The chairman of the committee, MK Ofer Shelach, also addressed the issue of criticism of the decision-making processes.

"You are illuminating here on a considerable number of trees, but the central role of the State Comptroller is to engage in the forest," Shelach said.

"We are in a crisis that will accompany us for a few more years and we will live in it for at least another six months as a health crisis and certainly as an economic and social crisis. Your main role during this period is to check the systems, say where we fail to learn. "The same questions we grappled with in the first month of the Corona crisis and draw systemic conclusions. More than naming, the statement about the decision-making system and the management system of the crisis is important."

Last night, the interim report of the State Comptroller on the crisis was published.

The report included eight chapters on urgent shortcomings that required treatment, but did not deal at all with the decision-making processes in the government and the Corona Cabinet.

During the next year, the full report on the government's conduct in the crisis is to be published, which, according to Engelman, will also include the decision-making processes.
