We love the Provencal and contemporary touch of this hotel located in a quiet street, in the city center of Aix-en-Provence.
While it has 55 rooms, the establishment is positioned as a boutique hotel.
It is true that the address exudes a confidential character with, at the entrance, a small cozy lounge with a fireplace.
In the rooms, details of the interior decoration such as the old wooden doors or the upholstery made from natural materials also help to create a feeling of intimacy.
Finally, the large terrace shaded by a plane tree, a sort of large private interior courtyard away from the street, is particularly pleasant on sunny days.
9/10 The situation
Le Cézanne occupies a central position, a stone's throw from Place de la Rotonde and Cours Mirabeau, the major pedestrian axis of Aix-en-Provence around which the city is spread.
Most of the cafes, restaurants, shops and cultural venues are within walking distance.
The hotel is also located on the edge of the Mazarin district, a handful of charming streets lined with mansions and high-flying art centers.
The bus station served by shuttles from the TGV station and the airport is also very close.
7/10 The decor
More than half of the rooms were renovated in 2019 and 2020 under the leadership of the Nicolas Thermed agency and affirm the contemporary and cozy signature of the address.
A spirit that can also be found in the comfortable little lounge of the hotel, with its old tiled floors.
Natural materials (linen, cane, burlap, wood, cane on the ground) and a palette of warm colors play a Provençal score while the wallpapers with plant motifs (PaperMint), designer lighting and furniture with clean lines bring a touch of modernity.
The bed runners and cushions are branded Le Monde Sauvage.
The only downside is the breakfast room, whose standard furniture, despite some Provencal furniture, contrasts with the rest of the interior decoration.
It should soon be redesigned.

With a size between 16 and 18 m2, the classics are quite spacious.
Three units (two on the ground floor and one on the mezzanine) have a small terrace, less intimate in the summer season because they are contiguous to the interior courtyard of the hotel.
All the rooms have a different decoration and layout.
In common: a beautiful light, provided by large windows, and a cozy atmosphere.
They overlook the hotel terrace or the street but are perfectly insulated from noise thanks to triple glazing.

The facilities are quite limited and there is no swimming pool, spa or gym.
The hotel does not have a concierge service but does sell tickets for the Center d'art-Hôtel de Caumont.
The reception is equipped with a device that allows customers to scan a QR code on their phone and access a guided tour of the few major sites of the city.
Le Cézanne has a seminar room with a capacity of 12 people, pleasantly located at the end of the terrace.
The car park, equipped with charging stations for electric cars, remains very practical in a city where you can easily get around on foot.

In fine weather, you can sit under the plane tree or under the pergola on the terrace.
The hotel does not have a restaurant but offers, on the terrace, in the dining room or in room service (24 hours a day), dishes in jars concocted by starred chefs (Boco recipes), a savory tart and a homemade soup of the day. quality and some catering dishes.
In summer, the menu also includes planchas of cheeses and cold meats.
There is no real bar area.
Cocktails and wines (according to a short regional and sharp menu) are served on the terrace or in the breakfast dining room.
