The epidemic in Hong Kong continues. Chief Executive Carrie Lam announced today (27th) that the authorities will set up community testing centers throughout Hong Kong for a long time. The four centers are expected to be located on Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, New Territories East and New Territories West.
When meeting with the media in the afternoon, the Secretary for Food and Health, Chen Zhaoshi, said that no detailed site selection has yet been made, but the tendering process will begin soon.
She quoted the Chief Executive as saying that the center has two main purposes, including that citizens can test at their own expense, which can facilitate travel if they prove negative, and they can also pay for testing to avoid worry when there is a small group outbreak.
Some industries have revealed that they have received bid invitations, and it is estimated that local medical testing institutions recognized by the government are on the bidding list.
According to industry sources, large-scale genetic companies have more room to lower their test prices. It is expected that the current "market price" of nearly 1,000 yuan per test fee can be reduced to a minimum of 400 to 600 yuan.

She reiterated that the long-term community testing center has two main purposes, including that citizens can pay for testing as needed in the future, and obtain a negative nucleic acid test certificate to travel in the form of a health code or a travel bubble.
She also pointed out that if there is an outbreak of a small group, the public can pay to participate if they are worried. The attitude of the authorities is "willing to check."
Before attending the executive meeting today, Carrie Lam said that the establishment of four temporary community testing centers in response to a small local outbreak was welcomed by the public. Therefore, four long-term testing centers will be set up in Hong Kong. The government will announce the public needs after tender The amount of paid testing.
According to industry sources, some testing organizations have received tenders, and it is estimated that local medical testing organizations recognized by the government are on the tender list.
The bid document states that the bidding is for nucleic acid testing, and does not include sampling details. It is unknown whether the organization needs to arrange the sampling personnel, and it is also unknown whether the lowest price will be awarded.
