Engineer Khaled Haboubati, head of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent Organization, discussed with the WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean, Dr. Ahmed Al-Mandhari, and the accompanying delegation, ways to improve the health situation in Syria that has been affected by terrorism through the support of the Red Crescent Organization and its humanitarian role.
The two sides discussed the mechanism of appropriate health care services provided by the Red Crescent in light of the spread of the new Corona virus and the challenges posed by the current circumstances in Syria, and the organization is working to confront them in cooperation with the Ministry of Health.
They reviewed the long history of cooperation between the two sides, as Dr. Al-Mandhari praised the efforts made by the Red Crescent, stressing the readiness of the World Health Organization to support and enhance the humanitarian services provided, which seek to alleviate the suffering of the most vulnerable.
