The suspected driver Saadoun was questioned in the morning, and at four in the afternoon, in agreement with the police, he will be released under house arrest until the weekend.

He is suspected of offenses of abandonment after injury, and died recklessly.

Advocate Erez Amiga, who represents the driver on behalf of the Public Defender's Office: "This is a tragic and serious accident.

The driver provided a detailed version that he did not notice the accident, and did not feel there was an accident.

Thus, he did not flee the arena and continued his work.

We are waiting for the police to complete the investigation soon and check his version. "

Father: "I got a blood-freezing phone"

Last night, at 11:00 PM, David Ohayon was laid to rest in the new cemetery in Givat Zion in Ashkelon, with the participation of family members and acquaintances.

David is the son of Rabbi Yuval Ohayon, rabbi and kollel director;

And Racheli Ohayon, a teacher at the Assaf-Maimon school.

The father, Yuval, eulogized his son and said in tears: "As I got out of the car, after receiving a blood-curdling phone and not wishing it on anyone, the ambulance driver took me and said 'Are you the father?'

I told him yes. He told me 'Come with me aside'. I went with him aside and then he said to me in two words: 'The boy died'. The name is blessed.

Father Yuval said that in five days David was supposed to mark his 9th birthday, but asked to bring forward his birthday.

"I believe wholeheartedly that David has been born for 9 years. B.G. Cheshvan, five more days, he has a birthday, but he insisted that we celebrate it for him early on Saturday and we celebrated it for him.

He was a genius in mind, he had a sharp mind not of a child his age, I have no doubt he was supposed to be huge in the Torah.

These are the children who grow up later with all the positive energies to be the great men of Israel.

He was the joy in our house, he was the special in our house, he had a good heart, he was a righteous and holy child, David, we love you.

We were left missing, we were left in pain. The fracture is as big as a spear in the heart. "

Suspected driver: "I did not try to escape"

David Ohayon was run over to death yesterday by a trailer truck while riding his bicycle near his home in Ashkelon.

MDA paramedic Ben Tetro said: "When we arrived at the scene, we saw the boy lying on the road several meters from the bicycle, unconscious with a severe head injury. His death on the spot. "

The driver fled the scene, and following police checkpoints set up on city roads, he was located and returned to the scene.

He was detained by the police, and after his initial version was rejected by the police - was arrested.

The suspect claimed in his interrogation and also in court that he did not try to escape: "I did not see that I ran over the child and continued as usual at work. I did not run away. You would not have run away under any circumstances."

The boy was apparently killed by a hit of the rear wheels of the truck.

The driver, who collects waste from a construction site, returned to the scene, a construction site near the scene of the accident, and according to eyewitnesses, he did not understand at all that he was involved in the accident.

He further claimed that he continued driving because he did not notice that he had hit the child.

During his interrogation, he said that about two years ago, his brother was killed in a bicycle accident.
