The Airport Section of the Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department intercepted and searched a male passenger arriving in Hong Kong from Ethiopia the day before yesterday (26th). During customs clearance, it was found that 2.2 kilograms of suspected cocaine was hidden in the mezzanine layer of the same thick, soft-skinned luggage. The market value was approximately 3.9 million, the Customs Drug Investigation Division took over the investigation case.
The 67-year-old man arrested is a local and reported that a retiree has been charged with one count of trafficking in dangerous drugs. The case will appear in West Kowloon Magistracy tomorrow.
The suspect contained 2.2 kilograms of suspected cocaine in the middle of a thick, soft-skinned computer baggage.
