Before the referendum on November 22nd, they list their arguments in a letter to the students' families.

“If the current plan is rejected, a new location would have to be found.

Too little capacity today
The use of the swimming and sports halls is strongly networked between the three Graefelfingen schools;
the shared occupancy affects the timetables and physical education of all schools.
"The hall capacities are already far from meeting the needs of the users (schools, clubs, Vhs, public)," said the parents' representatives.
“In the KHG, for example, not even the swimming lessons prescribed in the curriculum can take place.” The Gräfelfing elementary school can only implement its cooperation with TSV Gräfelfing in the field of athletics if two grades could go swimming.
The elementary and middle school in Lochham, on the other hand, must regularly switch to the KHG triple gym.
The alternative proposed by the project opponents, a construction on the school campus, would require an immediate demolition of the existing swimming pool and sports hall in order to make space for the new building.
"That would mean that during the construction period (approx. 2-3 years) there would be even greater restrictions on physical education, swimming lessons could not take place at all." An examination showed that switching to other swimming pools does not work.
Preserve space reserves on campus
If the new sports facility were to be integrated into the campus, "the space reserves for the long-term development of the school campus" would be built up, for example if the number of pupils increases or if there is more afternoon care.
In addition, the school yard would be reduced considerably.
And finally, a major construction site directly on the school campus leads to considerable sources of noise and danger.
