Washington-SANA

The American New York Times revealed that the number of people being transferred to hospitals due to infection with the Coronavirus has increased significantly by 46 percent from last month, which raises concerns about the ability of US health care systems to respond to this tremendous demand.

The newspaper indicated in a report today that the daily case numbers in the United States indicate the start of a new phase of the epidemic crisis, and it comes after previous waves hit large cities such as New York and then states such as Florida and Arizona.

The newspaper indicated that the high hospital admission rates paralyzed some cities that have fewer resources than others, pointing out that in the city of El Paso, Texas, for example, the number of people with corona who are hospitalized has more than tripled during the past three weeks, until doctors started at the center. The university medical officer flies some patients to remote hospitals in cities like San Antonio while others are treated in a field hospital set up in a nearby parking lot.

The newspaper also indicated that the situation has become very "critical" in other states such as Idaho, Missouri, New Mexico and Utah, with the exhaustion of front-line workers to confront Corona, so that hospitals are struggling to find alternatives for those who are infected every day.

And 26 states are recording record numbers of new infections, as more than 500,000 cases were announced last week alone, while no US state has ever recorded continuous decreases in the number of cases during the recent period.
