About 400 militants from social organizations
tried to take over the Municipality of La Plata

in a tense day of protests in the center of the Buenos Aires capital, and the mayor of the city, Julio Garro, linked it to the usurpations of land.

The tense moment was lived at the gates of the 11th street between 51 and 53, when the protesters tried to enter the municipal palace and struggled with an agent of the local security secretariat and police officers.

As reported, the director of Security of the municipality, Cristian López was attacked by the protesters when they managed to tear down the gate of the entrance to the building.
"A sector of social organizations led by sectors linked to political leaders tried to enter by force with sticks and iron canes," reported municipal sources.
The La Plata government filed a complaint with the First Police Station, so that the Justice could intervene in the event of what happened.
The claim had begun in the morning, with a street cut on 12 between 51 and 53, to demand that food be delivered to the self-convened committees that politically manage these social organizations in the city;
and not for the neighborhood committees jointly arranged by the Municipality, the councilors and legislators of the ruling party and the opposition, the Catholic Church and the UNLP.
