Sky Sports and ESPN reported that Ronaldo did not provide a negative result on his latest covid-19 test, which was necessary for him to be able to play on Wednesday.
When contacted by CNN, Cristiano's club Juventus did not confirm or deny Tuesday's reports that Ronaldo would miss the game, saying there was no update and the club would not comment.
Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo said Tuesday the club would have to wait for the result of Ronaldo's covid-19 test.
"I think the result will come tonight," Pirlo said at his pre-match press conference.

The first PCR test required by the highest body in European football was carried out seven days before the game as dictated by health protocol and Cristiano was positive.
UEFA, however, allowed Cristiano to have one more test 24 hours after the crash, but the covid is still in the organism of the historic scorer of the tournament.
This result does not mean that he has given the virus again, since it was only announced on October 13 that the Portuguese had been infected, while he was concentrating with his team.
Cristiano during his period of isolation has expressed feeling well and has not presented any symptoms.
