French President Emmanuel Macron has expressed confidence that rebuilding trust in relations with Russia is a necessary condition for ensuring Europe's security.
Reuters quoted Macron as saying today during a press briefing he held in Paris with Estonian Prime Minister Yuri Ratas: "We discussed relations with Russia ... security cannot be guaranteed in Europe without gradually restoring confidence in relations with Moscow."
Macron pointed out that the main goal of Europe's policies towards Russia is to improve conditions for collective security in Europe, taking into account the interests of all members of the European Union.
