A survey conducted by Hong Kong Baptist University, South China University of Technology, and the Hong Kong Talent Management Association from July to September found that the average salary increase for all ranks in Hong Kong this year is between 2.2% and 2.4%, and the increase is expected to be between 1.7% and 1.8% next year.
Liang Weijia, the vice chairman of the Hong Kong Talent Management Association, pointed out that with reference to the SARS period in 2003, the salary change in 2008 was not significant, and the impact appeared in 2009. Leung Weijia, chairman of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Cities in Guangdong Province) Salary and Welfare Survey Group in 2019, predicts that the investigation time will not cover the entire epidemic, and believes that the extent of salary increases in Hong Kong next year still needs to be observed.
